Curtis Quick, 70, of Ankeny, Iowa and formerly of Arizona, passed away on the morning of November 1, 2024 at Mill Pond in Ankeny under the care of MercyOne Hospice.
Services for Curtis will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Curtis' name may be directed to the family for a later designation. Curtis A Quick was born on April 16, 1954 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the youngest of two children born to Cyrus A. and Darlene (Briggs). Curtis grew up in Atlantic, Iowa where he attended school through graduation at Atlantic High School as part of the class of 1972. He furthered his education at Iowa Western Community College and graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in 1974.
In 1976, Curtis was united in marriage to Sharon Riley. They had two children, Charity and Crystal whom they raised together. He resided over the years in Arizona and Iowa and worked as a civil engineer to support his family. In 1993, Sharon and Curtis divorced. He was then united in marriage to Renee Wolfe on January 24, 1994. From this union they had one daughter Brittany. They also combined households and he gained three bonus children, Jenelle, Matthew and Joel. Curtis spent a year working in Minnesota and won the achievement of winning first place in a mapping contest of Minnesota while working for LHB Engineers and Architects. In 2021, Renee passed away and Curtis was working for Clappsaddle-Garber in Marshalltown until his retirement in 2023.
In his free time, Curtis enjoyed staying active, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool, playing poker and going to the casino. He was known to be a hard worker and dedicated employee. He enjoyed hanging out with his co workers in spare time.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his children, Charity (Frank Rodriguez) Quick, Crystal (Roger) Quick-Claussen, Brittany Quick and Jenelle Butler; his grandchildren, Kayla Marshall, Jacob Claussen, Madeline Claussen and Solomon Perry; great-grandchildren, Sierra and Beau Clemens; and his brother, Cyrus (Diana) Quick. He is also survived by three nieces, Jobeth Hanke, Colette Mithelman and Deana Quick-Romig and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Renee Quick; step sons Matthew and Joel Butler; and his parents, Cyrus and Darlene Quick.
