Curtis Gael "Curt" Robinson ObituaryCurtis "Curt" Robinson, age 88, of Chanhassen, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025. Born in Eagle Bend, he grew up in Osakis. Curt spent the last 52 years of his life in Chanhassen building a life rich in family, faith and a love for classic automobiles. In his own words, found after his passing, this is how he wanted to be remembered; "Curt loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family and classic cars."
Curt was a longtime accountant at Control Data, continuing in that role after the company became Seagate in the late 1980s, until his retirement. In retirement, Curt devoted thirteen years to the Carver County veteran community, driving the VA van to transport veterans to and from appointments at the Minneapolis VA Hospital.
Curt had a passion for classic cars, particularly his beloved Willys Jeepster and his Chevy Corvair. His garage was a place of meticulous cleaning and waxing of them. He delighted in the unique character of these vehicles, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with fellow car lovers at local shows and gatherings. The rumble of a well-maintained classic car and the gleam of polished chrome brought a smile to his face.
However, Curt's greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to Nancy for over 60 years, who preceded him in death last year, and a loving father and grandfather. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Ella and Brady. His kindness, gentle spirit, and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Furthermore, Curt was a long time member of the Chanhassen Lions. He was very active in the organization and was a member for over 30 years. He received several awards and started two of the club's service events that continue today, the Food Drive and the Adopt a Highway litter clean up event. He loved working at the Lions Christmas tree lot talking to customers and fellow Lions members.
He is survived by his son, Cory, wife Emilie, their children, Ella and Brady and brother Gordy Robinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; son, Jason; daughter Tammy Jo; and sisters, LaRayne Johnson and Jean Hall.
A memorial service to celebrate Curt's life will be held on Friday, June 6th, 11am at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior, where he was a member for over 50 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Curt's memory to the Chanhassen Lions (www.givebutter.com/Lions).
