Curt was born on February 20, 1959, to Charles "Chuck" and Clarice Sheelar. He was raised on the family farm near Ruso, ND. He attended and graduated from Butte School in 1977.
Curt was united in marriage to Ramona Plesuk on August 18, 1989, where they made their home in Bismarck, ND. From that union, they had two beautiful children, Kelsi and Bo.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to share his passion for hunting, fishing and camping with his family. A lot of great memories were made that will be cherished forever. He also enjoyed many years of softball and darts.
Work life for Curt started with road construction, then concrete work. Once he moved to Bismarck, he worked with the Labors Union and Cement Finishers local until a back injury. He then went on to work at Eide Ford for 20 years. After retirement, he began his dream job working on the farm again with his brother-in-law, Ryan, on the Plesuk Farms. Harvesting was his favorite time of the year.
Curt is survived by his partner and best friend in life, Ramona; daughter Kelsi (Jason) Helbling; daughter-in-law, Meghan Sheelar; Grandsons Brock and Seth Helbling; brother, Calvin Sheelar; sisters, Cheryl Lovro, Cathy (Rick) Schnell, Colleen (Neal) Dimmer, Coann (Mike) Grady Candy (Kirby) Kassenborg; mother-in-law, Edith Plesuk; sister-in-law Rynelle (Todd) Evanson; brother-in-law, Ryan (Brenda) Plesuk; and numerous of nieces and nephews.
