Curtis Walters

Curtis Randolph Walters, 89, passed away on May 28, 2025 at Quality Center in Lebanon, TN.
He was born in Como, MS on December 18, 1935. Curtis proudly served in the US Navy for 20 years as an Aviation Machinist. He fondly remembered his days on the USS Ticonderoga and often told friends he would enlist again if they would take him. After the military, Curtis spent 20 years working for Helena Chemical Company where he was the Fleet Manager. When his son-in-law was killed in the line of duty in 1999, he became an active member of Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS).
He loved visiting with police departments around West TN and thanking them for their service. Curtis was often found outside, making sure that he always had a perfectly manicured lawn.Curtis was a faithful member of Bartlett Hills Baptist Church until moving to Mt Juliet where he attended First Baptist Mt Juliet. Most of all, he was so proud of his family.
He was a devoted husband to Kay Walters for 60 years. He loved his children, Reita Gale Holloway of Elizabethtown, KY, William "Randy" Walters of Senatobia, MS, Frances "Kathy" (Lance) Lauing of Senatobia, MS, and Karyn Allen Kroeze (Johnny) of Mt Juliet, TN. He adored his grandchildren, Colonel Charlie Holloway (Didi), Major David Holloway, Joshua Overton, and Gracie Ruth Allen. His great grandchildren, Alex, Derek, Dayton and Ashley Holloway, CW2 Raven Whitaker (Cam), Sgt Dominic Morales, Brian and Andrew Holloway, and Lauren Tate. He also had 3 great-great granddaughters.
As the youngest of 9 siblings, he also has many adoring nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be held at Bartlett Hills Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN on June 14, 2025. Visitation from 12-2 with the service at 2 pm. His family invites you to wear red, white and blue in honor of the country Curtis so proudly served and his beloved Ole Miss Rebels.
