Curtis Joe Wise
Funeral service for Curtis Joe Wise will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Full Gospel Church in Chickasha, OK. His presence in our lives will be sorely missed but his legacy of kindness and resilience will forever live on in those who had the privilege to know him. Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Curtis Joe Wise passed from this life on July 8, 2025 in Chickasha, OK at the age of 65. He was born on December 8, 1959 in Oklahoma City, OK to Jimmy Wise Sr. and Charlotte (Bailey) Wise.
Curtis was known for his indomitable spirit and generous heart. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to his family, friends, and community, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Curtis embarked on a diverse career journey, initially co-founding W&W Used Car Lot with his brother Jimmy in the early 1980s. His entrepreneurial spirit thrived as he later opened the GW Longhorn Cafe alongside his wife, Gidget, and subsequently, a furniture shop. After years of hard work, he retired to focus on what mattered most to him, his family and especially watching his children and grandchildren grow.
Outside of his professional life, Curtis was a pillar of strength and kindness. He was always ready to lend a hand or offer support, embodying a truly selfless nature. His hobbies reflected his altruistic personality, as he cherished helping others and was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim Leon Wise Sr. and Charlotte June Wise, his wife, Mary Louise Wise, son, Curtis Joe Wise Jr., nephew, James Robert Wise, sister, Betty Farrell, and brother, Terry Leon Wise
Curtis's legacy is carried on by his loving family, including his sons, Robert Ray Wise and Terry Wayne Wise; daughter, Lela Cassandra WIse (Cassey); grandchildren: Eric Joe Blane Firebaugh, Kaylee Dawn Firebaugh, TIanna Lynn Walker, Marina, Chelsea, and Emma Grissom; brothers: Tommy Wise and wife, Gayla, Kimmy Wise Jr. and wife, Tony, Michael Shane Merrill, and wife, Angie, Jimmy Leon Wise III, sister, Melinda Richardson and husband, Joe; adopted daughter, Michelle Elliott, and his best friends, Kenneth Luna, Francis Malone, Randy Brewer, and Dalton Nunn; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
