Cynthia "Cindy" Jackson Alexander, 70, of Sharpsburg, Georgia, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Born on November 18, 1954, in Newnan, Georgia, Cindy was the daughter of Joyce Daniel Jackson and the late Hubert Harold Jackson.
Cindy proudly graduated from Newnan High School, where her love for music, specifically piano, guitar, and vocals, first began to sprout. She continued her education at the University of West Georgia, majoring in music, allowing her to deepen her knowledge, skills, and appreciation for the art form she cherished.
A devoted and long-standing member of Crossroads Church, Cindy played an active role in the children's ministry. There, she not only taught song lyrics and dance moves but had a profound and lasting impact on hundreds of children in her community and beyond. Cindy had the ability to see the strengths and talents in the children she taught, unlike any other. She made them feel seen and helped mold them into leaders in her classroom.
At the heart of Cindy's life was her unwavering love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which guided her actions and interactions with others. She embraced her faith and shared it generously with those around her.
Beyond her commitment to her church and faith, Cindy was a devoted wife and a nurturing mother and grandmother. She found immense joy in baking and sharing her delicious treats and candies with students, neighbors, and all those that she loved. A fan of corny jokes and M&Ms, Cindy lived her life with a smile and lightness that brightened every room she walked into. Cindy left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her through her warmth, creativity, faith, and selflessness.
In addition to her mother, Cindy is survived by her loving husband, John Dean Alexander Jr.; her sons, Chad Luke Alexander and John Ryan Alexander; her brother, Daryl Jackson; and her grandchildren, Cannan Vickers and Willow Marie Alexander.
Cindy's celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Crossroads Church (2564 GA-154, Newnan, GA). The family will welcome friends at the church from 2:00 PM until the start of the service. Cindy's body will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park during a private ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Crossroads Church Children's Ministry. Your generous donations will help continue her legacy of love and care for the younger generation. Contributions may be made by visiting www.crossroadsonline.org/give.
