Cynthia "Cindy" Sue Ash, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully in Grove City, Ohio, on October 19, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on September 6, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, Cindy brought joy and love into the lives of everyone she met through her generous spirit and unwavering dedication to family.
Cindy attended West High School in Columbus, Ohio. She dedicated over 20 years of her career to Sally Beauty Supply where she met lifelong friends and created lasting relationships.
She was known for her giving nature, especially during the holidays, where she made each celebration special. Cindy had a knack for creating unforgettable memories, often surprising her children and grandchildren with special advent calendars at Christmas. These thoughtful gestures were just a glimpse into her nurturing heart.
Cindy was blessed with a wonderful family who were her pride and joy. She leaves behind her son, Stan (Renee) Ash, and her daughter, DeAnna Ash. Her legacy continues to shine through her grandchildren: Jeffie, Destiny, Jaden, Kason, Kolton, Kevin, and Kinsley, along with her two great-grandchildren. Cindy's siblings, Lori (Scott) Bell, Glen Douthitt, and Lynnette (John) Stephens also carry forward her spirited flame. In addition, she shared a profound connection with her long-time partner, Steve Dyer, and maintained close ties with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Among her dearest friends was Pam Snyder, her lifelong best friend, who stood by her through thick and thin.
Cindy was not only a dedicated family member but also a vibrant individual with a wealth of interests. She loved nothing more than attending her grandchildren's sports events, where her pride was on full display. Her fondness for the outdoors led her to enjoy fishing and camping trips, while her leisure time was often filled with her favorite reality TV shows, particularly Survivor and Big Brother and she found joy in Hallmark movies. She treasured quiet moments spent sitting on her front porch, enjoying a refreshing Pepsi and reflecting on the beauty of life.
Always warm-hearted and sentimental, Cindy held her loved ones close. She was a remarkable mother who loved hard, often being described as the "queen of the mean mug" for her playful yet fierce demeanor. Known for taking moments to rest her eyes, she embraced the simple pleasures that life had to offer, including the cherished times spent making Christmas cookies with her grandchildren.
Cindy joins her loved ones in eternal rest, including her parents, Chester Rogers and Helen (Gray) Douthitt; her late husband, Stan; her son, Jeff; her grandson, Caleb; and her brother, Chet (Judy) Rogers, along with her sisters-in-law, Sue and Barb.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cindy's life during the visitation on October 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on October 28, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway in Grove City, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM on the same day, leading to the graveside service at Green Lawn Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
Family requests you wear Ohio State clothing or dress casual, as Cindy would like that.
Cynthia Sue Ash will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering love for her family, and the delightful memories she created for those around her. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
