Cynthia Lynn Barnard, 64, of Chillicothe passed from this life surrounded by the love of her family, on Sunday March 29, 2026 in Hillsboro Post Acute Care. She was born on July 18, 1961 in Sandusky, OH, the daughter of William and Violet (Fodge) Barnard, Sr.
She shared many cherished years with her devoted companion, Jerry Coakley, whose presence was a constant source of love and support in her life.
Cynthia was a grandmother, sister, and friend. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Melissa Barnard, Priscilla Whitley (Dave), and April Waugh (Bill). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Alexis McCray (Dalton), Sierra Whitley, Gabrielle Shrake (Travis), Hunter Staggs (Angie), Shane Whitley (Blake), Djinn Waugh, Donald Whitley (Kaylee), Dominick Montgomery (Makenzie), and Brandon Whitley. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Cynthia is survived by her brother, William Barnard, Jr., sisters, Helen Hardin (Ronnie), Rebecca Sue Hutton (Don Sr.), Sara Blaney (James Sr.), Patricia McCallister (Mike Sr.), and Lisa Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Kevin David Barnard.
Cynthia will be remembered for her deep love of family, her strength, and lasting impact she made on all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday April, 1, 2026 in Grandview Cemetery, with Pastor Don Hutton, Sr., officiating. There will be no public calling hours.
