Cynthia Courtright, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, in St. Joseph, Michigan. Cynthia Lee Weber was born in Benton Harbor Michigan on June 12,1947. She was a witty woman with a quiet strength and unwavering convictions.

Cindy’s early years were spent on her family farm in Benton Harbor, where she also attended school. Her academic journey continued through her whole life; she was a lifelong student who had a passion for learning. She attended several universities before finishing at Sienna Heights University, when she was in her 60’s as a student earning her Bachelor’s Degree!

She was a career woman with a flair for fashion. She enjoyed the fast pace of selling advertisements for a local newspaper in her 20’s. She was the face of School Zone Publishing, a popular children’s book publishing company for many years. She then ended her working years as an innkeeper at Lakeside Inn. This was one of her very favorite roles helping with weddings and booking the beautiful rooms of the Inn. This position allowed her to express her innate hospitality and love for people.

She had an enduring love for animals. When she was young, she enjoyed riding horses on the farm with her sister. She adored the joy and companionship of her pets; her dog Beau was always by her side. Cindy also had many hobbies. She was an avid reader, often pursuing books of historical fiction. Her passion for reading reflected her introspective nature, allowing her to explore worlds beyond her own. Cindy also loved to create. She delighted in sewing new clothes, but also reworking old clothes into a new and better look or design. She was developing her love for knitting up until her last days, as she was knitting a beautiful, soft pink scarf.

While Cindy was known for her introverted nature, those who were close to her experienced her extroverted side, which shone through in moments of deep connection, conversation and laughter. She navigated the world with a strong will, guided by an internal compass of respect and courtesy.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Weber and Margaret (Holland) Weber and her sister Patricia Weber.

Her legacy is carried on by her twins and their loving families. This includes her two children, Jennifer Cook (Erik) and Zachary Courtright (Sarah), and her previous husband, Jim Courtright. Her fifteen grandchildren—Samuel, Magdalene, Augustine, Sebastian, Peter, Cecelia, Isaac, Joseph, John, and Philomena Courtright, and Benjamin, Jordan, Parker, Molly, and Alexis Cook—will forever cherish the memories and lessons imparted by their beloved Nana.

If you were to ask, what was her best and biggest accomplishment in life, with a smile on her face, she would have said, “Raising my twins!”
