Cynthia Sue McCollom Crabtree, 73, of Osage, Wyoming passed away peacefully at Weston County Health Services on April 26, 2025, following a hard fought battle with cancer. Cyndi was born in Newcastle, Wyoming on April 9, 1952, to Harold and Dorothy (Cole) McCollom. She attended school in Upton, Wyoming and graduated with the class of 1970. Following graduation, she attended the National College of Business in Rapid City, South Dakota for one year. She married John Crabtree in November of 1972. To this union two sons were born, Sean in 1973 and Brandon in 1977. They later divorced and she met her life partner Rod McMeekin. They made their home in Osage and shared 37 years together. Over the years, Cyndi had many bookkeeping, secretarial, and waitressing jobs. She was the proud owner of Crabby’s Health and Safety where she taught MSHA, OSHA, First Aid, and CPR. She was an EMT for 35 years and the Weston County Coroner for eight years. Cyndi was a public servant throughout the years, serving many boards and being very active in her community. Out of all her jobs, being a mom and grandma were her favorite. She loved her boys and bragged about them every chance she had. Cyndi was an outstanding and very protective grandma who went above and beyond for her grandkids. She looked forward to the Sunday morning breakfasts to watch the grandbabies play and loved the chaos of it all. Cyndi had many hobbies over the years, sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and crafting, to name a few. She was definitely a jack of all trades. Her big heart and strength will be profoundly missed by her partner Rod McMeekin; her sons Sean (Darcie) Crabtree, Brandon (Leah) Crabtree, Siblings; William (Maggie) McCollom, Barb Sutherland; Grandchildren: Kiersten (Devin) Davidson, Merritt (Mickey) Crabtree, Nathina (James) Lewis, Mason Rawhouser, Dane, Rylan, and Bristol Crabtree; Great-grandchildren; Brixxon, Quinn, Kinlee, and Beckett.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Dorothy; twin siblings at birth; Nephew; Bert Sutherland Jr. and brother-in-law Bert Sutherland Sr. Services are to be held on May 4, 2025, at Weston County Events Center, Fairgrounds Road in Newcastle, Wyoming at 2:00 pm, with a burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Following the burial, a luncheon will take place at the Weston County Events Center for all who want to gather in remembrance of Cynthia.
