Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Grooms passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Cindy was known for her grace, wit, and southern charm. She was quick with a smile, a kind word, and-when needed-a perfectly timed “bless your heart.”
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Grooms; children, Christine (Steve) Gupton, Michelle (Jason) Schenk, and Michael Osborne; grandchildren, Danielle and Laura Beth Gupton, and Jordan and Trenton Schenk; and siblings Linda Sesco, Gale Hildabrand, and Johnny Dalton.
Cindy worked hard throughout her life in roles ranging from cashier to office manager. She loved her church choir, 80's country music, and a good cup of coffee.
A lifelong animal lover, she had a special bond with her cats and a gift for storytelling that delighted children. Her generosity was quiet but constant-she never passed a Salvation Army bell without giving what she could.
Cindy lived her life through faith and kindness. Now, reunited with her beloved parents, John and Jean Dalton, she watches over her family with that same spirit.
In honor of Cindy’s love for animals and her compassionate heart, donations may be made to your local humane society or the Alzheimer’s Association
