Justin James "J" Grooms,31, of Wallace, SC passed away Monday, November 10, 2025. He was born on December 30, 1993, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of Donna Kay Grooms and the late James Samuel Grooms.
From a young age, Justin's adventurous spirit was evident. He had an insatiable love for riding ATVs and dirt bikes, reveling in the sense of freedom and speed they provided. His passion for the outdoors extended to coon trapping and fishing. Justin enjoyed building fires.
He was preceded in death by his father James Samuel Grooms, grandparents, Fairley and Peggy Chavis, Lucille Grooms and step grandmother Betty Grooms.
He was the cherished son of Donna Kay Grooms and a beloved brother to Krystie Grooms, Kevin Coble, and Adam Grooms. Justin's role as an uncle was one he embraced with his whole heart, showering his nieces Taytum Coble, Macyn Thomas, Harper Thomas, Blakelyn Grooms, and Ember Grooms, as well as his nephews Hunter Coble, Drake Smith, Gunner Grooms, and Brandon Rankin, and great nephew Ollie Rankin with love and attention. His numerous cousins will remember him as the life of every family gathering, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. Also survived by his grandfather, James Henry "Sonny" Grooms.
Justin's generosity knew no bounds. He had a heart of gold and was always the first to offer help, whether it was giving you the shirt off his back. His loving, caring nature and great personality made him a friend to many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his leisure time, Justin was an avid gamer, enjoying the virtual worlds of Xbox and PlayStation. He shared this hobby with his brother Adam and his nephews, creating cherished memories during their gaming sessions. His love for food was another of his simple pleasures, and he was always eager to sit down to a good meal with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Southridge Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ronnie Wayne Chavis officiating.
