It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Cynthia Anne Hart, who left us peacefully on October 18, 2024, at the age of 74. Surrounded by her loving family in her final moments, Cindy's legacy of love, resilience, and warmth will forever remain in our hearts.
On December 9, 1949, she was born and raised amidst the beautiful landscapes of Minnesota. Cindy was the cherished daughter of Dante and Frankie Allegrezza. She carried the Midwestern values instilled in her throughout her life, always prioritizing family, friendship, and community. After graduating from high school, Cindy embarked on a new journey to California to pursue higher education, earning a bachelor's degree in English from California State University, Fullerton.
During her college years, Cindy met and married John Steinmetz, and together they moved to Colorado to raise their family. Although their paths eventually diverged, Cindy remained a devoted single mother, raising her three sons-Mike (Sandra), Kevin (Anna), and David (Sarah)-with unwavering dedication and strength. Her children were the center of her world, and she instilled in them the values of kindness, perseverance, and integrity.
Cindy skillfully balanced her responsibilities as a mother with a successful career at Boise Cascade, where her work ethic and positive spirit earned her the respect of her colleagues. Her professional journey was marked by excellence and an ability to inspire those around her. One of her greatest achievements was becoming the first female branch manager at Boise Cascade. In 2012, she was honored as Lumberman of the Year, a testament to her outstanding contributions to the industry.
In addition to her sons, Cindy was a beloved grandmother to seven grandchildren: Dante, Blake, Aubry, Maddison, Ashton, Avery, and Jake Steinmetz. She cherished every moment with them, whether sharing stories, shopping, or cheering them on at their various activities. Her love and wisdom will forever guide them.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, Tom Hart, who brought joy and companionship into her later years, married on July 2, 1999. She is also survived by her stepchildren, John Elam (Michele), Janaya Steinmetz, Shane Hart, and Seth Hart (Dana), who were an integral part of her extended family. Additionally, she leaves behind her brothers, Mark (Julie) and Brad Allegrezza, who fondly remember her as a caring and supportive sister.
Cindy's life was a testament to love, resilience, and compassion. Her gentle spirit and generous heart touched everyone she encountered, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Cindy's life will be held on November 23, 2024, at 1:00pm, at The Inverness Hotel 200 Inverness Dr W, Englewood, CO 80112. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to A Precious Child https://apreciouschild.org/donate/, an organization close to Cindy's heart.
Cindy's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will be cherished forever.
