Cynthia Jean Hyder, 74, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Randolph Hospice. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late William Earl Hyder, Jr. and Pearl Laws Hyder.
Cynthia graduated from Central High School and worked for Lincoln Financial for over 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, beach music and Nascar racing. One of her favorite drivers was the late Dale Earnhart. She was an avid UNC Tarheel and Carolina Panthers Fan. The love of her life was Jim who passed in 2002 and her canine companion, “Pepper”.
Cynthia is survived by her sister, Teresa Hyder Walker of Gibsonville; brothers, William “Keith” Hyder of Greensboro and Ed Hyder of Asheboro; cousins, Patty Keel of Fayetteville, Georgia, Carol Bulla and husband David of Asheboro, Gail Steele and husband, Paul of Newnan, Georgia, Joel Hyder and wife, Judy of Mebane, Brian Hyder and wife, Jessica of Burlington and Donna Snyder and husband, Wesley of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; step mother, Patty Cheek Hyder; brothers, Marion “Cass” Hyder, Charles Hyder, Jim Hyder and a sister, Ethel “Gee Gee” Cecil.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 2:00PM at Alamance Memorial Park by Eric Rudd.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
