D. Imogene (Goetsch) Brown was born as the youngest of seven in Doniphan, Nebraska on June 24, 1931 to Frank and Pauline (Perkey) Goetsch. She stepped into the loving arms of Jesus on November 26, 2025. Always an overachiever, Imogene graduated from Doniphan High School in May 1948, at just 16 years old. She immediately took a position as a teacher in a rural one-room school house where she taught until she he married Ronald Brown on June 14,1950.

Ron and Imogene made their first home in Hansen, Nebraska where they started their family. Imogene was known as a top-notch homemaker from the very beginning and those skills won her the title of Mrs. Hastings in the mid 1950s. She embodied faith and family and always made sure that her husband and children had both a family home and a spiritual home. A lifelong Methodist, Imogene made finding a new church a priority after every move.

Imogene believed that home was more than just four walls, and she created a home wherever life took them. In 1962 the family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico where they expanded their family.

While two infant daughters were held in their parents' arms for just moments, they made a life-long impact on the family. Ron and Imogene went on to foster 154 children through the Methodist Mission Home over the next several years.

Imogene followed Ron on one last move, to San Antonio, in 1968. Imogene established the family and church homes, and settled in as a Texan. A woman of many talents, she was an avid quilter, a voracious reader, and a master baker famous for her decorated sugar cookies. She was an accomplished seamstress who crafted many garments for her daughters and granddaughters. She enjoyed playing bridge, singing in the church choir, and volunteering wherever she was needed. Always, keeping her eyes upon Jesus, she taught adult Sunday School in all of her churches, throughout all of her moves, until the Spring of 2025 when her eyesight failed.

Always the perfectionist, Imogene never settled for less. This included her love for games of all kinds. After Ron's death in October 2019, Imogene moved into a retirement village where she excelled at Bingo, Rumikub, and Trivial Pursuit. At Discovery Village at the Dominion, Imogene continued to sing in the choir and spread the love of Jesus.

Imogene lived a faithful life guided by Biblical principles. Although she was good at being in charge, she was quick to tell anyone who the real Boss was. Her faith was unwavering until her last breath.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Frank and Pauline (Perkey) Goetsch, her husband of 69 years, Ronald Brown, her sister and five brothers, two infant daughters, Heidi Jean Brown and Rebecca Ann Brown.

She is survived by her children, Steve (Susie) Brown of Las Cruces, NM, Debi (Mark) Bledsoe, of Oakville, TX, Jeff (Lori) Brown of San Antonio, TX, Sarah Ridolpho (Steve Marsho) of Scottsdale, AZ, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
