Daryl Clark Emery, 57, of Moorhead, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND due to cardiac arrest.
Clark was born July 21, 1968, the son of Daryl O. and Judith (Bennett) Emery in Fargo, ND. He was raised in Moorhead, graduating from Oak Grove High School in 1986 before continuing his education at North Dakota State University.
Clark volunteered as a Ski Patrol member at Andes Tower Hills in Alexandria, MN. He also volunteered at the North Dakota Retriever club and FM Dog Obedience school pursuing his passion for training dogs. In his professional career he worked as a skilled flooring installer. On August 5, 1994, he was united in marriage to Susan Heller at Good Shepherd in Moorhead. They established their home in Moorhead where they welcomed and raised their two children, Hannah and Hayden.
Clark was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed downhill skiing, duck hunting, working on home renovation projects, fly fishing, and hiking. He also enjoyed snorkeling in Hawaii and maintaining his large saltwater aquarium. He has completed a marathon, triathlons and hiked the Colorado Trail (567 miles) and Superior Hiking Trail (310 miles). He enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Star Lake. He also enjoyed traveling with family, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories. Nature held a special place in Clark’s heart, where he found peace and joy. Above all, he deeply valued moments with his family.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sue; children, Hannah (Riley) Larson, Fargo, ND and Hayden (Marranda) Emery, Glyndon, MN; grandchildren, Vida and Grace Larson and Wesley Emery. He will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and Sue’s loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Clark’s legacy will continue through his generous gift of organ donation.
Visitation for Clark will be Monday, February 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service at The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
