D. Vincent (Bud) Ford, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home on April 10 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born November 13, 1935 to Juanita (Baughman) and Darrell Ford Sr. In Lima Ohio.
In June he would have been married to the love of his life, Marilyn, for 68 years. Bud served in the Navy for 6 years, then went on to earn his PHD from Ohio University in educational administration. He started his career teaching social studies at Athens High School, then moved on to principle at Alexander High School in Albany Ohio. They moved to Sidney when Bud began working as principle at Fairlawn HS. He finished his career serving as Administrator at Christian Academy in Sidney. After retirement, Bud continued to serve the Lord in many different capacities and received his Master's of Divinity. In retirement, he authored a book, Transformation-The Missing Piece. Bud helped establish the Sidney Emmaus Community and served on many Emmaus and Kairos teams throughout the years.
He is survived by the love of his life Marilyn, 3 children, Doug (Katy) Ford, Drew (Jill) Ford and Cheryl (Dave) Fortney, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Calling Hours will be Sunday April 13, 2025 from 2-4 pm at Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday April 14, 2025 at 1pm at Adams Funeral Home. Full military services will be provided by Shelby County Veterans and the United States Navy. Internment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney Ohio. In
lieu of flowers any donations can be made to either Christian Academy or Dorothy Love Life Care. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.theadamsfuneralhome.com.
