D. Dianne McSorley,
Was born on November 6, 1933. She was the daughter of George and Mildred (Douglass) McSorley of Muskegon, Michigan. Dianne was the sister of Sandra Hoessel, Marilyn McSorley, Kenneth McSorley, and Doug McSorley all of which have passed on from this lifetime. Dianne's two cherished children, Daniel Martinez (Kristi) and Yolande Martinez-Jolitz (Scott) have been one of her greatest joys. She was the caring and admired step-mother of Rick Martinez and Robert Martinez. She has four beloved and precious grandchildren including Samantha Repinski (Daniel), Jasmine Jolitz (Sierra Hartfield) and Kyle and Anna Martinez. She was the great-grandmother of her treasured great-granddaughter, Ava Repinski. Her nieces, Sandra Kay (Floyd Strandberg), Jackie and Debbie, Susan and Lori always held a special place in Dianne's heart and she valued them dearly.
Dianne was a tenacious and diligent worker who at times worked two to three jobs at a time to make ends meet and help support her Dad, family and save for her future. She worked for Dickten Masch Plastics, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance, and Service Master for many years. While Dianne had the desire to be an elementary school teacher, Dianne instead moved to Milwaukee at 18 years old to work in a local foundry.
She met and married Salvatore Martinez and raised four children. She divorced in 1978 and lived in Oconomowoc, Pewaukee, Waukesha, and Menomonee Falls at various times in her adult life. Dianne was a compassionate, kind, intelligent, friendly, and good-natured person. Dianne had the ultimate and happiest smile in the world. She loved to play and have fun with her family. She was an avid and voracious reader of books, a fierce opponent at Scrabble and Cribbage, and a consummate chef.
Dianne had a positive and upbeat attitude, always looking for the best in others. Dianne was a spiritual and religious woman who believed that the Lord was always with her. She experienced a stroke in 2011 that left her wheelchair-bound. While it was difficult for her to deal with the ramifications of her disability, she never gave up hope and worked hard to rehabilitate herself. She lived gracefully despite her physical challenges.
In her last few years, Dianne struggled with Dementia, but always remembered her family members with joy and incredible memory.
Dianne made her transition to heaven on December 15, 2021, peacefully, surrounded by her family. May her funeral service be a true celebration of her life, her memory, and her spirit. She will be dearly missed, but not forgotten, by those she loved and those that she had a positive impact on in her lifetime.
