Dagmar Martha Katarina Kossin Mudrow passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, December 9th 2023. She was born in Danzig, West Prussia (Germany) on March 12, 1931, to John Benno Kossin and Martha Groenig. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who gladly served in many callings.
Shortly before the end of WWII, her family was forced to leave her birthplace because of the Russian advance and were never able to return. Her family finally settled as immigrants in Langen, West Germany post war. It was there that she met her companion for eternity, Kurt Alfred Mudrow. They were married on May 17th, 1952. In January 1954, they immigrated to Salt Lake City with the hope of providing a better opportunity for their family. They were later sealed January 21st, 1955, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She held a strong belief in Heavenly Father and relied on His guidance in raising her four children (3 boys and 1 girl). She worked at Continental Bank in Salt Lake City to support all of her boys while they served missions. After retirement, she served with her husband, Kurt, on 4 missions, one at the Freiburg Temple, and one at the Bountiful, UT temple, as well as 2 others locally in Utah. She enjoyed cooking traditional German meals for her family. She was known for her German cakes. In her spare time, she loved to crochet and knit and made many blankets for her family and others. She served and provided many hours of genealogy help to others.
Dagmar is preceded in death by her husband Kurt, her parents, Benno and Martha, 2 sisters, Eleanor and Helma, and brother Erhard. She is survived by her children, Oliver, David (Val), daughter Loraine Conradi (Michael), and Raymond (Laurie). Also survived by her brother, Bruno Kossin (Colleen), sister Margit Kuehne (Lynn), brother-in-law Bob Bair, and sister-in-law Heidi Kossin.
Dagmar was very proud of her 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
