Daisy Vail Junkin, age 88, of Northport, Alabama was born November 24, 1936 to Colen and Mary Emma Vail of Reform, Alabama. She passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville, AL. Burial will be in Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Aliceville with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at Dogwood Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Colen Vail and Mary Emma Holliman Vail and her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Euteal Junkin.
Daisy graduated from Pickens County High School in 1955. She and Euteal were married on February 5, 1955, and together they faithfully shared life, family and work. In 1963, Euteal purchased The Pickens County Herald where Daisy served as bookkeeper for many years.
A devoted woman of faith, Daisy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Aliceville where she joyfully taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. After Euteal's passing in 2007, Daisy moved to Northport and later became a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in 2009.
Family was the heart of Daisy's life. She and Euteal raised four children and were blessed with many more family members through marriages, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Daisy loved her family dearly and filled their lives with warmth and encouragement. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing hymns, traveling, baking, square dancing and bird watching. Known for her sweet spirit - and her sweet tooth - she brightened every gathering.
Daisy became a Christian early in life and her steadfast walk with the Lord profoundly shaped her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of faith and love will continue to bless generation to come.
She is survived by two brothers, Hobson Vail and Karl Vail; four children, Lance (Tammy), Jim (Ellen), Vanessa (John) and Dave (Nicole); seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Miriam), Joshua (Devin), Joanna (Tyler), Breanne (Zach), Evan (Sloan), Clayton (Jordan), Joseph and ten great-grandchildren, Jared, Daniel, Ian, Blakeney, Shepherd, James, Maddie, Remi, Hudson and Daxson.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nicholson, Tyler Mitchell, Josh Junkin, Zach Dunn, Evan Junkin and Joseph Junkin.
The family celebrates a life well-lived and rejoices in the assurance that Daisy is at home with her Savior.
