Dakota Gibbon

Dakota "Cody" Jerome Gibbon, 37, of Cassadaga, passed away on February 15, 2026, after a brief battle with heart complications.

Born on June 2, 1988, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, he was the youngest beloved son of Edwin Gibbon III and Jacqueline Hudson. Cody's life was defined by his deep love for family, his generous spirit, and his adventurous heart. He cherished camping trips with his family at Allegheny State Park, where he was always the one gathering the kids for their next adventure. He has a passion for building cars and competing in the demolition derbies throughout the county. He also treasured fishing with his stepdaughters Ava and Alivia, and hunting with his brother Ed, moments that meant the world to him. Above all, Cody will be remembered for how fiercely he loved his family and friends. He was always there when you needed him, offering steady support and a kind heart. His presence touched so many lives, and he will be deeply missed and loved forever.

Cody is preceded in death by his mother Jacqueline Hudson and aunts Rose and Brenda Hudson. He is survived by his wife Angela Peru, stepdaughters Ava Peru-Gustafson and Alivia Peru, his father Edwin Gibbon III, his brother Ed Gibbon IV, his nephews Eddie Gibbon V and Reede Gibbon, niece Prentiss Gibbon, a sister Brandi, and his aunt Linda Hudson.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
