Dale Richard Archdekin II, 69, Prairie Village, Kansas, formerly of St, Joseph, Missouri, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, surrounded by family.
He was born August 10, 1953 in St. Joseph, MO to Dale Richard and Berta Jean (Garrett) Archdekin. Dale attended Central High School and Missouri Western College.
He married Connie Jean Gladden on November 10, 1972 in St. Joseph, MO, and they recently celebrated their 50-year anniversary. Dale was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Early on in life, Dale worked for many years in the family businesses including the car washes, amusement machines, The Orange Deacon and Archie's Cupboard. He also was a navigator on an oil exploration ship spending months in South America and South Africa. He worked as a civilian on a U.S. Army base in Germany. For at least the last 20 years, Dale was a business owner in Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Connie, of the home, 3 children; Dale R. III (Carmel) Philadelphia, PA, Garrett W., Kansas City, MO, Courtney J. (Jeremy) Whiteley, Olathe, KS; 3 grandchildren, Adrian Archdekin, Evyn Archdekin and Dekin Whiteley soon to arrive.
He is also survived by his brother Brent (Tammy), sister Melinda (Grant) Riles; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 13 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Olathe Community Center, 1205 E. Kansas City Rd., Olathe, KS 66061.
Memorials may be sent to The Rescue Project (local animal rescue which Courtney & Jeremy volunteer through), Gary Sinise Foundation, or Harvesters.
