Dale Allen Barton, age 83, of Colon, passed away March 28, 2025, at Rose Arbor
Hospice Center in Kalamazoo.
Dale was born March 2, 1942, in Kalamazoo, a son of the late Gordon D. and Iva M.
(Snow) Barton.
He made his home in Colon most of his life, graduating from Colon High School with
the class of 1960. He then attended Michigan Tech University and the University of
Michigan, graduating in 1965 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. After spending
four years working in the paper industry in Muskegon, Dale returned home to his
family's farm in Colon, where he helped his father work the dairy farm and tend the
fields.
Dale enjoyed his sports teams, especially the University of Michigan football and
men's basketball teams, Detroit Tigers baseball, Detroit Lions football, and Colon
High School baseball. Dale also enjoyed performing magic tricks, especially to help
children feel welcomed and entertained. Dale enjoyed collecting stamps and baseball
cards, and he had a special love of dogs. Dale enjoyed visits with family members far
and near. And Dale loved laughter.
Dale is survived by his brother, Leslie (Marci) Barton; his sister-in-law, Martha
Barton; his nephews, Andy (Jennifer) Barton, Brad (Susan) Barton, and James (Carol)
Rice; and, his nieces, Kimberly (Lance) McClure and Ruth (Philip) Anderson.
Dale was preceded in death by his brother Jack and his parents.
A private graveside service was held at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
If desired, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Dale to either the
Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan or your local animal shelter.

Some of Tom´s fondest memories are being with Dale and Jack, and times with rest of their friends. The look he got when talking about things and places they would do and go, you knew they were good if not great memories. Must have been wonderful, the smile and delight you would see on his face when talked about them.
Have a great reunion, 3 good old friends, fishing and having a beer.

A note from Tom Loudenslager
You´ve been my thoughts, Kathy
