Dale Buckner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home - Enid on Dec. 29, 2025.
Dale "Randy" Lee Buckner Sr. was born May 1, 1945, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to John and Francis Buckner. He passed from this world on December 26, 2025. Cremation arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

As he grew up working on the family dairy farm east of Hennessey, Randy developed a steadfast work ethic that followed him throughout his life.

He attended Hennessey Schools and participated in football as the starting center on the State Runner Up team. Here, Randy also met Nancy Ann Deines whom he married in 1962. From the marriage that lasted 62 years, came three children.

Randy left the farm and began working for Conoco as a gauger in 1969. This was the beginning of an illustrious career that spanned 51 years starting in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, then moving to Wichita Falls, Texas and ending in Medford, Oklahoma where he retired as Maintenance Coordinator on November 2, 2020. Randy earned immense respect from fellow workers for not only his knowledge of the oil field but for his tremendous work ethic and love for his job.

Randy enjoyed the love of his family and continued communication with his Conoco/Phillips work family. He had a love for the outdoors, especially mowing his yard in Enid and at his farm in Hennessey. Randy also loved his dog Chip, who was his constant companion after his wife's passing in 2018.

Randy was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Buckner; his parents, John and Francis Buckner; brothers Jack Buckner and Pete Buckner; sisters Sally Hixon, Leta Mae Stitt, Doodles Gill; and 4 infant siblings.

Randy is survived by his three children, Christie Buckner (Sherri), Dale "Buddy" Buckner Jr., Julie Moeller (David), grandchildren, Randy Moeller (Tyler), Cayti Moeller (Justin) and great grandchild Jovanni Jackson.

In honor of Dale's wishes there will be no service. Cards may be sent to Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory in care of the Buckner family. Online condolences can be made at www.andersonburris.com.
