Dale Edwin Carley, age 92, of Cooks, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 27, 2025. He was born on December 28, 1932, in Cooks Mi, the son of Fred and Opal (Rivers) Carley.

Dale attended school in Soo Hill and later graduated in Escanaba Mi. Following graduation, he honorably served in the U.S. Army. Dale was a Korean War veteran, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. In 2015 he was a proud participant aboard an Honor Flight to D.C. After his military service, he worked in the construction industry, where he proudly worked as a mason. He was known for his dedication, skill, and strong work ethic.

In 1956 Dale married Ethel (Steele) in The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Together they raised their four boys, and shared a beautiful life of faith, family and friends. He was a longtime member of the Cooks Congregational Church.

It was the simple, but meaningful things that Dale enjoyed. He loved to spend time playing his harmonica, listening to music, and enjoying the great outdoors, especially, hunting and fishing. He and Ethel also loved to travel, and spending time with family and friends. He was a great storyteller, and his tales will be remembered for years to come.

Dale is survived by his wife Ethel of Manistique, their son, Roy of Germfask, Mi. His sister Verna Brandt-Miller of Florida. Grandchildren Jason, Craig, Abby, Tyler, and Rhiana. Four great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dale in death are his parents Fred and Opal, and his three children Glenn, John, and Gene.

The family would also like to thank Northwoods Home Healthcare, and all those who helped Dale achieve his wish of remaining in the home he built until the lord called him home. We are forever grateful.

Services for Dale will be posted at a later date.
