Robert Adam Mahoney

Robert Adam Mahoney, 89, of Gould City, passed away on November 28. He was born on November 8, 1936, in Detroit, the son of Fred Elias Mahoney and Claire Agnes (King) Mahoney.

In 1954, Robert graduated from high school in Detroit and later earned a degree in civil engineering at the University of Michigan. He honorably served in the United States Army for two years. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with the Wayne County Road Commission, where he worked in administration, eventually serving as Director of Roads. His career spanned more than four decades.

On November 12, 1966, Robert married Alice Nugent in Detroit. He spent most of his life in the Detroit area, residing in Milford, MI, before relocating to the Manistique area in 2004 from Milford, Michigan. Robert enjoyed hunting, golfing, spending time in the woods, and working outdoors. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Robert is survived by his wife, Alice Mahoney, and his sons, Patrick Mahoney and Daniel Mahoney.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marilyn Bain; and his brother, Frederic.
