 Dale D. Carpenter, 93, of Crookston, Minnesota passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Villa St. Vincent, Crookston. Dale was born on May 25, 1931, to loving parents Otto and Betsy (Hanson) Henrickson at home in Lancaster, Minnesota.

Dale attended school and graduated from Stephen High School, Class of 1949. After graduation she worked at the Stephen High School. She met the love of her life, Glenn Carpenter in Stephen. They were married on July 13, 1950, they almost made it to 75 years for these two! They moved to Crookston in 1959. Dale began working for the City of Crookston as Payroll Clerk for 29 ½ years, retiring in 1990. Dale was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Crookston.

Dale loved her family and devoted her time to taking care of them. Dale’s grandchildren and great grandchildren always brought a smile. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed embroidery, cross stitch, knitting and crocheting.

Glenn and Dale built a beautiful “A” frame cabin on Maple Lake in 1973. She loved swinging and relaxing in her chair and entertaining many families and friends. They also spent many winters in San Benito, Texas as snowbirds enjoying the warmth of the sun and many friends!

Dale is survived by her loving husband, Glenn. Her daughters, Diane and Mike Rood, Kim and Jerry Michaelson and Beth and Neal Benoit, all of Crookston; her grandchildren Lisa and Shane Demarais, Brita and Chad Lubinski, Josh and Meagan Michaelson, Lindsey and Eric Erdman, Katie and Matt Hann, Jenna Benoit and Eric Solheim; her great grandchildren, Aedan and Cole Demarais, Maddie Lubinski and Trent Stengl, and Tanner Lubinski, Chase and Brody Michaelson, Nash and Quinn Erdman, Harper and Otto Hann, Ellie and Emery Solheim; her brothers Dennis and Joyce Henrickson, Odee and Alvina Henrickson; sisters in law Helen Mae Johnson and Nancy (Vern Hodgson) Wimpfheimer. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and family friends. 

Dale is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Betsy Henrickson, parents’ in-law, Edward (Mae) Carpenter and Mabel Carpenter. Her brothers, Vernon (Sue) Hendrickson, Jerley (MaryAnn) Henrickson; Her sister Elaine (Larry) Keller; sister-in-law Maureen (Tom) Gerszewski and brother-in-law Arland Johnson.

Dale will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family and friends.

There will be a memorial service held to celebrate Dale’s life at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Visitation with the family as well as fellowship, and a luncheon will be held from noon to 2:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery immediately following the service.
