David Arthur Faulk, 82, was born in Cleveland and died in Columbus of heart failure on September 1, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurora Faulk (Ziegler) and William Faulk, and by his brother, John Bruce Faulk. He is survived by his cousin, James Faulk, and his cousin’s sons, Jeffrey Faulk, Jason Faulk, and Jonathon Faulk, all of whom he loved dearly.

Dale graduated with a perfect attendance record from John Adams High School in Cleveland in 1960. He had strong bonds with his high school friends and faithfully attended his high school reunions throughout the years. Dale also graduated from The Ohio State University where he managed to enroll in four years of German language courses. In the fall of 1962, he was a pledge to Acacia Fraternity and was initiated as an active member and brother on January 12, 1963. This commenced a lifetime of friendship and brotherhood that continued unabated throughout his life.

In March of 1966, Dale obtained his private pilot’s license and radio operator’s permit. In May of the same year, Dale entered the Army and, to his great delight, he was sent to Germany as an information specialist where he was able to travel extensively throughout Europe. After his military service, he returned to Columbus and rekindled his relationship with Acacia Fraternity serving as a mentor and advisor to the chapter. He maintained this fraternal association throughout his life. Even up to his death, he continued to attend weekly luncheons and monthly breakfasts with his fraternity brothers. He was honored by the fraternity for his life-long dedication and received the Order of Pythagoras and the Jeffrey Hall Jordan Award for his dedication and contributions to Acacia.

Dale spent many years working in the refrigeration business but really enjoyed his foray into private enterprise when he owned his own Dale’s Hallmark Card Shop at the Northern Lights Shopping Center. He delighted in the everyday interactions with his employees and customers. Dale was an avid skier and a former member of the Columbus Ski Club. He made numerous friends and acquaintances in this club and traveled, skied, and played softball with them for many years. Dale also was a ski instructor for decades at the Snow Trails Ski School and received the 110% Award “for service given above and beyond the ordinary for the express purpose of enhancing the image of Instructors” at the school.

Dale was a dog lover and people person. He cherished his relationships with his family, neighbors, and friends and, by all accounts, these feelings were reciprocated. His cousin, James Faulk, remembers Dale as a true gentleman, a great friend, a wonderful cousin, and a treasured member of the family. His neighbors have expressed how thoughtful, helpful, and friendly he was. His friends will truly miss him and hold dear to his memory. A “Celebration of Life” will be held in Dale’s honor on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The Acacia Fraternity, 166 East Woodruff Ave. Columbus, OH 43201. All those who knew Dale are invited to attend.
