Dale Roger Fugel

Dale Roger Fugel, 86, passed away on Feb. 11, 2026, in Trenton, Florida.

Dale was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, April 30, 1939, to Wilbur C. Fugel and Edna (Oertel) Fugel. His family moved to Camden, Maine, and he graduated from Camden High School in 1957.

In 1958 Dale enlisted in the United States Army and served through 1961. He was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division and won the soldier of the year contest in 1960. He also served in the United States Coast Guard as commanding officer in Southwest Harbor, Maine.

Dale earned a B.S. and Masters degree from the University of Maine in Biology and secondary administration. Dale was a 35 year educator in several Maine schools and at Central Florida Community College in Chiefland.

Dale and his wife Paula were married on Feb. 14, 1984, in Ellsworth, Maine. After his retirement in 1991, they moved to Chiefland and lived in Suwannee, Englewood before moving back to Chiefland in 2020. They enjoying many years fishing in the Gulf with friends and family.

Dale is survived by his devoted wife, Paula; three children, Cynthia Kasprzak and husband Michael of Bangor, Maine, Kathleen Kimball of South Portland, Maine and Garth Fugel of Dover Foxcroft, Maine, one stepdaughter Heather Libby and husband Ryan of Chiefland, Florida. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dale will be interned at the National Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers t2t.org.
