Dale "Albert" Heyn ObituaryDale "Albert" Heyn of Goodwin, SD passed away at the age of 70 on September 2, 2025.
Memorial services will be 10:30am, Monday, September 8, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg, SD with visitation one hour prior to the service. Music will by Eileen Lindner and Leroy Mack. Tom Kranz will be the Eucharistic minister and Dale's nephews will bring up the gifts.
Interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kranzburg.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fieber's Dairy.
Dale "Albert" Francis Heyn was born June 4, 1955 in Clear Lake, South Dakota to Vincent N. and Myrtle S. (Boerner) Heyn. He grew up in rural Goodwin and helped on the family farm. He attended school at Holy Rosary Catholic School and then high school in Clear Lake, South Dakota.
Albert worked with Joe Strang in the plumbing business, then he was employed by John VanderWal Construction, where he ran a backhoe for many years. He was one of the best backhoe operators in the state. He could spot a rock that needed to be picked from a mile away! A few of the things he enjoyed doing in
his younger years were snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, and going to the State Fair. He also had some favorite snacks, cheesesticks, Snicker bars and a 2 liter bottle of pop were at the top of the list!
Following disability from working road construction, Albert enjoyed gardening and helping area farmers. He loved mowing his lawn and took great pride in it. He was also a fantastic personal snack deliverer. He enjoyed spending time with his nephews and great nephews.
Grateful for having shared in Albert's life are his brothers, Larry (Gail) Heyn of Swea City, IA, Dick (Lil Jutting) Heyn of Watertown, SD and Mike Heyn of Watertown, SD; his sister-in-law, Carol Heyn of Huron, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Vince Heyn; and sister-in-law, Lois Heyn.
