Allen "Dale" Jerry was born January 23, 1937, in Cumberland, WI, the son of George Woodrow Jerry and Leona (Peterson) Jerry. He passed away on July 12, 2025, at Care and Rehab in Cumberland. He attended kindergarten in Cumberland with "Missy" as his teacher, grade school at a school near Barronett, the Camp Dixon School, and high school in Cumberland. In his younger days, he worked in the strawberry and rutabaga fields and for many farmers, milking cows and helping with field work. He worked at 3M for 35 years.
He was married in 1959 to Sandra Erickson, and they had three children. Dale's passion was fishing and deer hunting until his health declined, and he had to give it up. He was known as "Chopper" by his close friends and relatives. Dale was a lifelong fan of old-time country music, and he found great pleasure in feeding and watching the birds and deer in his yard.
Dale is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sandra; children: Jeffrey (Sherry), Rodney (Wendy), and Roxanne (Bryan) Hoovestol; seven grandchildren: Linda (Jeff) Wollberg, Christopher (Kristina) Jerry, Casey Eggen, Kathleen (Kenneth) Hartman, Heidi (Bill) Ascheman, Timothy Hoovestol, Tyler (Clare) Hoovestol; great grandchildren: Riley and Easton Jerry, Morgan and Hannah Eggen, and Louis and Arlo Ascheman; his brothers: Douglas Jerry and David (Janet) Benson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Charles Benson; and brother, Donald Benson.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Timberland Ringebu Cemetery.
