Dale Harrison Lyons

Dale Harrison Lyons, age 84, of Hudson, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025. Dale is the beloved husband of 59 years to Sue (nee Bunn); devoted father of Jen Rischitelli; cherished grandfather of Rob, Tom and Maggie; loving brother of the late Jack Lyons, Jerry (Joanne, surviving) Lyons and Barbara Dennis; dear brother-in-law of Sue Bunn; and dear uncle and great uncle of many.
Dale worked as a teacher and administrator in Hudson, Stow, Crestwood, Streetsboro and at the Portage County Board of Education. Dale was active in Hudson Community Service, Hudson Land Conservancy, and the Hudson Food Bank. He was an Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Hudson, and was a regular blood donor. He valued his friends and neighbors.
As a husband and father, Dale's love and support knew no limit.
"Papa" cherished and adored his grandchildren, spending countless hours at baseball, gymnastics, ice hockey, field hockey, and track events and other school activities. He was incredibly proud to be grandfather to his three Ohio State Buckeye grandchildren.
The family appreciates the caring support of the staff at Maplewood Senior Living Community in Twinsburg. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dale's life will be held at 2:00 PM on SATURDAY, JUNE 14, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church of Hudson (at Christ Church Episcopal), 21 Aurora St., Hudson, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dale's memory to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Busch-Romito Funeral Home, Hudson, OH. (330-650-4181).
