Their love for Elmer does not go unseen.
Elmer Dale McGill, went simply by Dale. Dale was born on October 14, 1957 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He joined the Army at 17. He was honorably discharged as an E5 Sergeant to take care of his eldest daughter as a fulltime single father. Dale worked mainly in maintenance and HVAC through his adult life. He had an infectious smile and personality to match. From his clean cut military days in the Army, to his rebellious Fu Manchu and long hair, he was simply loving and fun. His biggest joy in life was his large combined family. He loved his wife Nancy dearly and taking trips whether that was camping, fishing, or a sightseeing road trip. His second joy in life.the art of tinkering.
Dale loved a good challenge when it came to renovating boats, motors, cars, and jet skis. Sometimes he won. Sometimes the motors won. Either way he enjoyed every minute of it. Regardless of the sometimes colorful words that emitted from the garage. Although his efforts will not go unrecognized, his greatest accomplishments in life would never be material things. It was by no doubt the families he brought together and the love and memories made. He was the epitome of the word DAD. He provided, taught, guided, and nurtured children to help them become the men and women they are today.
"I'm a Dad, that's what I do." Is a motto he lived by with his whole heart.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 15th, 2025 at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services' Chapel, 6631 Washington Ave., Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
