Rickey A. Altstatt, age 63 and a resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away on October 29, 2025 in Birmingham, AL.
Rick was born to JC and Bobbye Altstatt on December 26, 1961. A native and lifelong resident of Biloxi, Rickey attended and graduated Biloxi High School, then attended William Carey University. He joined the United States Air Force where he worked as a master instructor to include developing/writing courses and Network Security while overseas. He was awarded the John Levitow Award in NCO Leadership Academy and retired after 20 years of service as a Master Sergeant. After retiring he was a contractor for TTMS for the Air Force as Quality Assurance Lead.
He was an animal lover as evidenced by his involvement in animal rescues and fostering through Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets. He loved Auburn football and spending time with his grandson Bruce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, JC and Bobbye Altstatt, and his father-in-law, Bruce Matthews.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years and 11 months, Marsha Matthews Altstatt of Biloxi; Mother-in-law Kay Matthews; son Ryan Altstatt of Biloxi; daughter Amanda Altstatt (Thomas Atkins) of Theodore, AL; grandson Bruce Altstatt-Atkins; sister Cindy (Herman) Pharez of Mobile, AL; nephews Jason (Kelli) Pharez, Matthew Spicer, and Brett (Jade) Spicer; niece Ashley (Ryan) Davis; great-nephews-and-nieces Mason Pharez, Jonah, Stella, and Rayce; sister-in-law Marlynn Matthews (David) Spicer of Latimer; other relatives, many friends, and his loving fur babies.
Graveside Services for Rickey Altstatt will be held on November 20, 2025 at 2:30pm at the Biloxi National Cemetery with Air Force Military Honors.
