Dale Miksch Obituary

Dale L. Miksch of Lincoln, NE passed away at The Grace Space in Lincoln on October 1st, 2025, after a courageous 3-year battle with ALS. He was 70 years old.

Dale was born December 7, 1954, to Louis and Carolyn (Coffin) Miksch at St Mary's Hospital in Columbus, NE. Growing up on the farm taught him the value of hard work and a love of farming and the great outdoors.

He graduated from Scotus Central Catholic High School in 1973. He then graduated with honors from Southeast Community College in Milford in 1988 with an AAS degree in surveying and computer-aided drafting. He worked for Gilmore & Associates in Columbus for 19 years, followed by another 15 years at Nebraska Public Power District.

Upon his retirement in 2021, he moved to Lincoln to be closer to his son and his friends in his bicycle club. Dale was a member of Columbus Area Recreation Trails, Great Plains Bicycle Club, Great Plains Trail Network, and the Lincoln Hiking Club.

Surviving Dale are two sons, Jason Miksch of Columbus and Eric Miksch of Lincoln, one sister, Diane (Bill) Petersen of Loveland, CO, nephew Barry and niece Mandy, and one brother, Larry (Mary) Miksch of Columbus, nephews Adam, Brian and Drew. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Miksch.
