Dale was the big brother I would not have had without him. We met when I was about ten and quickly bonded over a shared over of chemistry and science in general. He had a well equipped chemistry lab in the basement, and we spent countless hours practicing the "experiments" we found in various chemistry books. For my 11th birthday I asked for laboratory glassware to add to the collection. Dale was a model big brother, teaching me about life in general, how to treat others, and taking responsibility for my actions. We were as close as brothers could be. Seventy years later I still love and remember him.

Our most sincere condolences. While teaching at Valley Forge he embraced all students. I will fondly remembering him sincerely addressing the challenge of teaching non-English speaking students in the very beginning. It is another tribute to you!
Both my husband and I taught with you those years ago. Rest In Peace.

Such a sad day to hear of you passing. Having you for a instructor in Autotech at Valley Forge were the best memories and times in highschool. And it was always nice to see you at your shop. And you would always compliment me on my old tanker truck. Or running into you at a restsurant or dairy queen. You will be missed but forever a friend.

Dale was my next door neighbor and big brother. He took me under his wing and taught me the things one learns from an older brother. He taught me to drive (on a Model A truck chassis in the field behind the garage). He shared and encouraged my love of science and we had a very well equipped chemistry lab in his basement. I only saw him a few times after moving away, which I deeply regret. A fine man and a great role model for his students. My condolences to his family and his friends.

Mr. Sirl was a great man. I had the great opportunity of Clerical Assistant for his Vocational Automotive Classes of 1975, 1976 & 1977. He treated all of us like family. RIP Mr. Sirl
