We were so shocked to hear from one of Dale´s nephews that he had passed this past December. We spent many hours with Dale at Polar Raceway; driving to his shop, Carburation Specialities in Palmer, Alaska from Anchorage. Dale was always so full of praises for Jesus and he led his life in the manner of a devout Christian. When he and Pam moved to Lake Havasau, Arizona, we would drive from Mesa, Arizona to have him work his magic on our Carburetors.
One of memories of Dale was in Anchorage, Alaska in early 1976. I was driving a little 1940 Ford Coupe. It was a great car, except, it didn´t have any gauges AT ALL. I was having problems trying to get my little coupe to stay running. I was close to his shop on Dowling Road, and pulled in to his parking lot. I went in and told him that Dave was out of town and I couldn´t keep my car running. Dale, being the wonderful, caring man he was told me to pull it into the shop and he would see if he could fix it. Dale spent about 2 hours trouble shooting the issue. Finally, he looked at me and asked me if I had enough gas. I answered that I was pretty sure I had fuel, (remember no fuel gauge). He said well let me check one one more thing. He took a hose, put it in the filler neck into the tank and blew. Oh My Goodness, no gas. He was so patient and made sure I had gas to get home. He never belittled me, never thought I was a silly blonde, all he would say was that he was so happy he was able to get me home safely. I know that God has welcomed him into his loving embrace and I know that Dale is smiling down from Heaven knowing he is finally in the loving care of our Lord.
Below is the gas-less culprit.
We will miss you Dale.
