Dale Wint Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 20, 2024.
Dale Wint was born December 3, 1971, to William and Alma Frederick Wint Sr. in Andrews, TX. Dale graduated from Andrews High School in 1990. He married Leslie Cloud the love of his life and best friend on July 7th, 2007, in Lubbock Texas. Dale often told stories about his experiences as a heavy equipment operator with his uncle and cousins. He also spent time as a window installer with his brother and then found his calling in the oilfield and has worked there for over the past 20 years. He loved baseball, especially his Texas Tech Red Raiders and Texas Rangers. He also had a passion for the Red Raider Football team up until Mike Leach left and would tell you the many reasons why if you were willing to listen. Dale loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with friends and family hunting, grilling, and fishing. If you knew Dale, you knew that watching his boys play baseball was his favorite past time. He never met a stranger and when he did by the end of the conversation, he would have plans to go to dinner with them and hang out the following weekend. He loved his family fiercely and was a good friend to many. The one thing that has been repeated in the stories that people have shared is that from meeting Dale and having conversations they were always better people because their paths had crossed.
Dale is survived by wife, Leslie; and two sons, Austin "Boogie" and Brady "Deuce"; mother, Alma and husband Lonnie Dyer; siblings, Larry and wife Carolyn Wint, Launa Dyer, James and wife Jennifer Dyer; mother-in-law, Kathy Cloud; sister-in-law Staci and husband Jeremy Thomas; nephews and nieces, Brandon Wint, Tyler Wint, Justin Wint, Landrie Thomas, Laynie Thomas, Matti Cooper, Hadlee Dyer, Malachi Dyer and many other loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Lawrence Wint Sr., father-in-law, Johnny Cloud, grandparents James and Rachel Wint, grandparents Arthur and Alma Rigdon, grandparent Charles Frederick, uncle Richard Frederick, aunt Gloria Frederick, grandparents Bud and Pansy Dyer, as well as niece Macy Grace Dyer.
Dale passed away on July 18, 2024, he was 52.

Dale was one of the best fathers I have ever met, his wife and kid always came first. (he was truly one of a kind-Not to many good family men left)
Dale was always fast to help anyone out, he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed. He was always wanting to help the kids that didn't have much. Just a great heart!

We had many baseball, and birthday party's together for our baseball families and always enjoyed getting to visit and hear Dales stories. I will never forget we were so excited to have a Halloween Party and my family came down with Covid that year so we had to cancel but Dale and Leslie loved doing that stuff together. We use to say lets plan another one and now.... I wish we could..

If you knew Dale you knew he loved his annual MUDBUG Boil, I was so sad I couldn't attend this year, but always looked forward to this party.. He had the biggest smile and always welcomes everyone to this!

I remember a conversation at my house one evening, he said he is the soft parent and always gave into the boys and Leslie had to be the strike one -lol Because if you knew Dale, he just had a soft teddy bear heart-He LOVED those boys!!
Dale you will be missed and we will continue to tell your fun stories -Some are just not going to be wrote on here.. LOL

We love you dale and you will be missed!
Many Prayers and hugs being sent to Leslie and her boys!

I have many fond and funny memories of this amazing man! He would take care of my child when she had to work at Grahams in Odessa! She would tell guy that hit on her and say ugly things to her, Dale would tell them about manners or teach them! Dale was an amazing friend or as he would say he was my little bro! I remember when he met Leslie! He came to our house to let us all know about her! Of course I gave him my lecture about treating her right and if I hear he mistreated her I would whoop his butt! He looked at me red faced and a big smile and said"Yes´mam!" The way he looked at her and he started staying out of the bars and out of trouble, I knew then that was the girl for him! Then seeing him and her at the wedding looking so in love with each other! I knew soulmates and a great love! When he had the boys I could see him happy and proud! He was my leaning post when I got divorced, he was an amazing friend ! Even though I have not seen much of in recently he will forever be in my heart as one of my little bros! Love you Mr Dale Wint and you will be missed!!

The way he loved his family. I know that´s cliche, but there were times I really thought Dale was going to fight me when Boogie was taken out of a ballgame before I could explain why haha. He was a very protective and loving father/husband who would do absolutely anything for them. Dale was and always will be proud of the family that he has. & even if he might´ve been one of the most hard-headed men I´ve ever met, he loved his people his so much, even if it was to a fault. You´ll be missed, sir. I love you and your family.
