Dale Wurts

Dale L. Wurts, 92, of Fort Pierre, SD, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Avera Maryhouse in Pierre. A memorial service will take place at 1:00pm on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Isburg Funeral Chapel in Pierre. Memorials can be directed to Hospice. Click Here to View Dale's Service
Dale was born to Vern and Goldie (Elerton) Wurts on September 9, 1932 in Miller, SD. He was raised on a farm south of Highmore, SD. He attended East Eagle Grade School and then Highmore High School. After graduation, he worked for the neighbors until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1950. He served overseas until 1952 and served in Austria.
Dale has 2 daughters with his first wife; Lori Rezac and Kayleen Reynolds both of Vermillion, SD.
Dale met the love of his life Dee Boe in January of 1973 and she had 4 children, Debbie, Doug, David and Donald, which he always claimed to be his kids.
Dale had several jobs during his life. He worked for the John Deere dealership in Miller, SD, when he first returned from the Army. Then he worked on the Oahe Dam and for the State of South Dakota in Job Service in the 1970s. He eventually started his own business as a furnace and air conditioner man.
Dale loved to work with his hands and did beautiful woodwork. He made most of the furniture in their home. He loved kids and animals. He also enjoyed camping and just being outdoors.
Dale is survived by his wife Dee Wurts, children: Lori Rezac, Kayleen Reynolds, Debbie Peterson, Doug Boe, David (Sonya) Boe and Donald (Teresa) Boe, 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Roger Wurts and nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol Jennings and great grandson Kayden Boe.
