Dallas Barnes Olsen Allen, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born on June 16, 1930, in Ogden, Utah, to Edward and Evelyn Barnes, Dallas lived a life full of love, generosity, and unwavering faith.
On November 21, 1952, she married Don Olsen, with whom she shared a life of adventure and family devotion until his passing on February 16, 1995. Later that year, she found companionship again and married Richard “Dick” Allen on November 8, 1995. Both men preceded her in death, as did her children Tommy and Diane, her daughter-in-law Bonnie, her parents, five sisters, and several beloved aunts and uncles.
Dallas was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings with dedication and joy. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her through every challenge and triumph. After Don’s retirement from government service, the couple enjoyed traveling and living in Nevada, Arizona, and Utah.
Family was the center of Dallas’ world. She gave her heart fully to her children-Tommy, Dennis, David, and Diane-and developed unique, loving relationships with each of them. She supported them endlessly, offering comfort, encouragement, and kindness through every stage of their lives.
She shared a special bond with her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Olsen, who not only became her caretaker but her cherished companion. Their days spent shopping, attending appointments, and simply enjoying one another’s company brought immense joy to Dallas’ later years. In her final chapter, she was lovingly cared for by her son Dennis and daughter-in-law Cheryl Olsen, whose compassion and dedication gave her comfort and peace.
Dallas was a woman of incredible energy and ambition. Her working years began at a local dress shop in Ogden, where the shop owner made a lasting impact on her self-esteem and confidence. Throughout her life, she worked a variety of jobs and embraced each new opportunity with determination and enthusiasm. She was always on the move, seeking out her next project, her next way to help, or her next moment to share joy with someone she loved.
Her legacy of generosity is unmatched-always quick to offer financial and emotional support to her loved ones, easing burdens without hesitation and with boundless love. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all who knew her will remember her not only for her kindness but for her resilience, wisdom, and radiant spirit.
Dallas is survived by her sons, Dennis and Davis Olsen, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her memory will forever be a guiding light to her family and all who were blessed to know her.
