Dallas L. Stooksbury, age 85 of Powell, TN passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at his home. He was born October 6, 1939, in Clinton, TN to the late Lon and Zena Stooksbury. Dallas was a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved his family and enjoyed aggravating his grandkids and was such a jokester. His passion was teaching Sunday school and was a member of Brickyard Road Baptist Church in Powell, TN. Dallas was an avid wood worker and UT fan.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son Dallas Vince Stooksbury and 11 siblings.
Dallas is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jessie Stooksbury of Powell, TN; sons Scott Stooksbury and wife Jenny of Clinton, TN, Mitchell Stooksbury and wife Gina of Andersonville, TN, and Marty Stooksbury of Powell, TN; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Receiving of friends and family will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with his funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm. Pastor James Dotson and Marty Stooksbury will be officiating. Graveside service will be 11:00 am on Friday, January 17th at Andersonville Cemetery in Andersonville, TN with full military honors.
