Damian Alvey Obituary
He was a retired Engineer in the coal industry and water plant operator. An avid sports fan, his allegiance never failed for the Kentucky Wildcats, St. Louis Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, and the Union County Braves Football and Wrestling programs. He was most proud of his family, especially his 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Richard and Mary Lucille Alvey, infant daughter Amanda Faye Alvey, sister Judith C. Alvey, and son-in-law Nicholas D. Polites.
He and his wife Diane Alvey celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on the day of his passing. He is also survived by daughter Melissa Polites of Morganfield, Jennifer and husband Zach Swift of Henderson, KY, and grandchildren Caden, Sahara, Dalton, and Drake Polites and Madelyn and Elliot Swift. Sister Mary Pat Omer of Virginia and brothers Jimmy Alvey of Evansville, IN and Paul Alvey of Henderson, KY as well as several cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8th at 1:00pm at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield, KY with a funeral mass and burial to follow at 3:00pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the West Kentucky Veteran's Center, 926 Veterans Drive, Hanson, KY 42413.
