Damian A. "Dan" Nardo Sr.

Damian A. Nardo Sr., 73 of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Born in Wilmington on May 20, 1949, he was a son of the late Frank and Anne (Aievoli) Nardo.
"Big Dan", as he was affectionately called by his many friends, was the owner and operator of Coastal Mechanical for many years, having worked up until his very recent illness. A very generous person, he selflessly opened his home to those in need, was instrumental in helping his children establish their businesses and would do anything in the world for his grandchildren. Dan enjoyed time at the beach and boating. When not working or helping others, he could be found relaxing in his chair in the "big room".
In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his brother, Francis and sadly, his son, Damian "Danny" Nardo Jr.
Dan will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon (Marra) Nardo; his daughters, Alexis Angelucci and husband, Brian, and Maryfrances Nardo; his grandchildren, Rachel Adams, Marrissa Nardo, Ava Staib, Carli Nardo and Damian "Danny" Nardo III. He is also survived by his sisters, Lucretia Nardo and Anna Maria Nardo; his nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Good News Church, 957 Old Lancaster Pike, Hockessin on Wednesday, July 6 from 10:00-11:00AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM, immediately followed by entombment in Cathedral Cemetery.
