Damon Yates, Jr.

John Damascus "Damon" Yates, Jr. died on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at his residence. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM,  Graveside at the Colquitt City Cemetery with Hank Sloan officiating. No Visitation.

Mr. Yates graduated from Bainbridge High School and was a massage therapist. He had severe back and knee issues for many years which limited his activities but this never dulled his sense of humor or intelligent conversations and the love he gave to people.

He is survived by his parents, John and Gail Yates of Bainbridge, GA; two aunts, Sylvia Faircloth of Bainbridge, GA, and Rita Sloan of Colquitt, GA; one uncle, Larry (Joy) Milliner of Enterprise, AL; and cousins, Jordan (Dorena) Faircloth of Dumfries, VA.  Ben Bland of Jacksonville, FL, Hank (Stacie) Sloan of Buford, GA, KaDee (Gigi) Sloan of Asheville, NC, Lee (Brynn) Milliner of Enterprise, AL, Otis and Oliver Faircloth, Dawson McDonald, Macaila and Daniel Sloan, Anslee and Emme Milliner, Tadiyos, Josie, and Des Sloan-Westmoreland. Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his sister, Damie Yates; brother, Devon Yates; maternal grandparents, James and Dorothy Milliner; and paternal grandparents, Ben and Pearl Yates.
