David Lee Yates, Jr., 57, of Argillite, passed away June 19, 2025, in King's Daughters Medical Center.

Mr. Yates was born October 28, 1967, in Ashland, a son of Dorothy Oney Yates, and the late David Lee Yates, Sr.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Mary "Mag" Yates.

David was a wonderful son, husband, father, and pappy. He enjoyed Nascar, listening to country music, and working in his garage. He could fix just about anything and was relied on by many. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. David worked in maintenance for the Russell Independent School District.

Along with his mother, surviving is his wife, of 35 years, Lori Dickison Yates; son, Brandon Lee Yates; daughter, Heather Renae (Joshua) Hess; grandchildren, Alan Lee Yates, Andrew Garrett Hess, Hunter Matthew Hess, and Carter Wyatt Hess; brothers, Ron (Debbie) Yates, and Steve Yates; sisters, Kim (Chad) Grooms, and Regina (Victor) Langdon; along with a host of close family, coworkers, and many good friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the Wurtland Church of God with Pastor Chester Keathley officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, June 23, 2025, and an hour prior to service time, Tuesday at the Church.
