Gladys Frances Coburn, 71, of Ashland, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at UK Kings Daughters in Ashland.

She was born on June 24, 1954, in Ironton, Ohio, to the late James "Jim" Weaks and Wanda Kiger Weaks.

Gladys is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Randy Lee Coburn, one son, Kyle David Coburn of Ashland, one daughter, Amanda Brook Coburn of Ashland, two sisters, Sonya Maynard and Pam Franz, one brother, James Edward Weaks, and a host of other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

She cherished the beautiful life she shared with Randy, together they build a marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories. The two shared a love for travel and adventure, often setting out on camping trips where they enjoyed the outdoors and the simple joy of time spent together. Along the way, they formed many lasting friendships with their special circle of camping companions, creating memories around campfires and on the open road that Gladys held close to her heart.

Gladys will be remembered as a gentle and kindhearted soul whose life was defined by compassion for others. She had a special love for children and devoted much of her time to making a difference in their lives through her work with CASA as a child advocate. Gladys believed every child deserved to feel safe, valued, and heard, and she worked tirelessly to be a voice for those who needed one most.

Her caring spirit also led her to volunteer with hospice, where she offered comfort, presence, and kindness to individuals and families during some of life's most difficult moments. Gladys had a way of making people feel at ease simply by being near, and her warmth and sincerity touched many lives. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her quiet strength, and the love she shared so freely with everyone she met.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 AM, Monday, March 16, 2026, at Carman Funeral Home with Deanna Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East, in Grayson, Kentucky.

Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 10:30 AM till 11:30 AM, Monday, March 16, 2026, at Carman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to be made in Gladys' honor to Kentucky CASA (https://www.kentuckycasanetwork.org/get-involved/donate.html) or Community Hospice (https://secure.qgiv.com/for/communityhospice).
