Dan Milton Benton

Dan Milton Benton, age 87, went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2025. He was born on October 17, 1937, in Wayne County. He was the son of the late Gurney Lee Benton and Tiney Lydia Moore Benton. Dan attended Nashville Auto-Diesel College and he was an active member of the WG Arnold Masonic Lodge #683. Dan was a faithful and dedicated member of the Zebulon Shrine Club and Amran Shriners Temple. He touched many lives in both his family and the community. Oftentimes it has been said and heard while speaking with Dan, "They don't make them like they used too." Few things have been more deserving of that quote than the man we cherished so much.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Alva Poole Benton; sister, Annette Deans; special niece, Rhonda Robison; special great nephew, Robert Robison; numerous beloved cousins; nieces; nephews; grandnieces; and grandnephews.
At his request there will not be a service.
Dan was a strong advocate for The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford and Shriners Children's Hospital. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church or one of these wonderful organizations in his memory.
