Dan Ray Gist Sr.

Dan Ray Gist Sr., of Pilot Point, TX passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024. He was born to Basil Sweeny and Marinell (Gentry) Gist on June 24, 1934, in Nocona, TX. He married Virginia Faye Lavy on April 30, 1954, in Gainesville, TX.
Dan is survived by his son, Dan and wife Kelly Gist of Spearman, TX; daughters, Rae Lynn Sutsch and husband, Rick, of Tyler, TX., Penny Jones of Pilot Point, TX, and Michele Davis and husband, Paul of Celina, TX; Seventeen grandchildren; Fourteen great-grandchildren; Nephew Greg Gist, of South Lake, TX; Niece, Gina Sawyer of Aledo, TX.
He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Gist; parents, Basil and Marinell; and brother, Jack Lee Gist.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 21, 2023, at 1:30PM at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX with his service to follow at 2:30PM, Bryan Lynn will be officiating. Interment will be at Pilot Point Community Cemetery in Pilot Point, TX.
