Dan Goodlow

CLEBURNE - Dan Goodlow was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on May 28, 1921, to Lessie Magnalina Josephia Probe and Pollard Dan Goodlow. He passed away on Sabbath, February 4, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. Dan's early years were spent on a farm in Oklahoma with horses. He had lots of time for hard work as well as care for the horses. However, Dan always could find time to go fishing. He grew up predominantly in Southern California, but he always had a heart for his family in Oklahoma and Kansas. He loved to work and build things. As a young man he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp where he planted trees and he constructed trails and shelters in many parks in California.
Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4 at Keene Seventh Day Advantist Church with interment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.
He married Thelma Lynette Newson and from that marriage he gained two stepsons, Joel and Norman. Soon the family grew to six with the arrival of Lorena and Juanita. They became members of the Market and E Streets Seventh-day Adventist Church. Both were baptized in 1949 in Stockton, California by Evangelist Byron Spears. Dan and Thelma were active church members. Dan spent time giving bible studies, directing the Pathfinder Club and building SDA churches in Northern California.
Dan became a bricklayer and was foreman for many years in commercial construction. After his career in construction he became a business owner. He loved to work and especially loved the outdoors. In his retirement years he enjoyed fishing and planting vegetable and flower gardens where he lived in the Plumas National Forest among the Redwood Trees in Northern California. Dan loved his time with his grandkids, as well as spending time with family at Newson Family Reunions and with his great grandkids at the swing set, in the garden and in church. We will miss him dearly.
Dan Goodlow was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Thelma Goodlow, stepson, Joel Jones, sister, Luella Boyd, brothers, Henry Goodlow, Jessie Goodlow, Wilbur Goodlow and Maurice Goodlow.
Dan was survived by daughters, Lorena Goodlow Mack and husband Timothy, of Fairfield, California, Juanita Goodlow Browder and husband Alan, of Cleburne, Texas; stepson, Norman Jones of Stockton, California, and sister, Supreme Holloway of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Jeannine Mack of Fairfield, California, Lisa Raber, and husband, Keith of Burleson, Texas, Christopher Mack and wife, Linda of Riverside, California and Brian Browder and wife, Jennifer of Bonney Lake, Washington. Great grandchildren include Kinzley Browder, Emma Raber, Jayden Mack, Gracie Raber, Ellys Browder, Elijah Mack and Mila Browder with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
