Miami, Florida – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dan Kleiman, son of the late David Kleiman and Frieda Kleiman. He died peacefully on December 12 surrounded by his loving family. He will be honored and remembered for the life he built, dedicated to his family, his business, and his deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Dan was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and grew up in Bay Harbor, Florida. He was a proud graduate of Miami Beach Senior High, Class of 1966. He fondly referred to himself as a "Beach High Guy", and attended the University of Miami. He worked alongside his father as a teenager at Fun Fair, the family's famous restaurant and a Miami landmark, where he mastered the art of the popular pizza burgers and milkshakes. He continued in the family's restaurant business for many years as a partner at the legendary Sea Shanty Restaurant.

He later transitioned into the real estate industry, where he found great success owning and managing numerous properties across Florida, Colorado, and Canada. Dan was an avid outdoors man, with a passion for horseback riding, fishing, hunting, and boating. He also loved traveling the world with his family. He often could be found at The Palm Restaurant where his portrait still remains, or enjoying a good cigar on the balcony.

Dan built a beautiful and fruitful life with his wife of 40 years, Sheila (Alper) Kleiman, originally from Montreal, Canada. He is survived by his wife, Sheila; his children, Kolby and Ella Kleiman, and Brittany (Kleiman) Swisa and Michael Swisa. He has four beautiful grandchildren, Jacob, Ariel, Jonathan, and Leah Swisa; his older brother Ed Kleiman and his wife Susie, and younger brother Gary Kleiman; and multiple beloved nieces and nephews.

Memories of Dan will be cherished dearly by all those who knew him. The funeral will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Beth David Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, Florida.
